Our mission is to create a sustainable society where all life on the planet is in harmony and all may live an abundant life. We bring about this change in society through our activities and through our networks inside and outside Japan.

Climate Change > see details

Global warming is expected to lead to a serious crisis for humanity and ecosystems, and we cannot afford any further delay to take action for the solution.

FoE Japan makes policy recommendations to create an equitable international framework to address climate change and shift to a low carbon society, cooperates with partners and local communities, and conducts awareness-raising and mobilization activities.

Nuclear and Energy > see details

Nuclear power is not a clean, cheap or sustainable form of energy. The Fukushima nuclear accident in 2011 proved that even one single nuclear disaster can destroy nature and livelihoods and displace many people. Nuclear power also produces nuclear waste that must be stored safely for hundreds or thousands of years, but this waste is piling up, with no sound solutions for its disposal.

FoE Japan aims to achieve a nuclear phase out, and advocates for the rights of nuclear disaster survivors.
